Many people wanted to know how they could get increase their steam account level fast without having to spend a lot of money and do it really fast as well. If you don’t already know, steam levels can help you quite a bit if you want higher bonuses and card drops in steam. It also makes your steam profile fancy and lets you use showcases where you can feature your items and achievements along with other things. So without further ado here are the 6 ways to increase your Steam Account Level:

Step 1: Craft Game Badges
Steam has a badge crafting system that can give you loads of XP which can easily level up your steam account. If you are new than for every badge you craft, your steam account will level up. This is by far the fastest method to level up your steam account. But the main drawback is you need to buy the trading cards from the community market to craft the badges. When you own the game you will get up to 3-5 badges via in-game drops. The more cards you buy and the more badges you can craft and the faster you will level up on steam.
You need an entire set in order to craft a badge. Crafting a badge gives 100xp. You can craft and level up a badge 5 times for a total of 500xp. For a 5 card set you will need 25 cards in total and so on.
There are some things that you need to know which can help you greatly. You can craft game badges even when you don’t own the game. As long as you own the full set of cards you can easily craft a badge.
- Always complete the 5 card and 8 card sets. The rest of the sets are not worth it cause they get expensive real fast. You get the same XP if you craft a 5 card set vs a 12 card set. A 5 card set is quite cheap when compared to a 12 card set.
- You can get the best and cheapest cards from games that are not that popular. I personally used hacket game cards which wear quite cheap.
- Some cards are more expensive than others always buy the cheaper card sets so you can craft steam game badges for cheap
- Craft badges during steam sales as there are better chances of offers and coupons that might be useful. But make to collect badges beforehand. During steam sales, their prices tend to spike.
- You can always trade the items received from crafting badges so as long as you are smart. Only buy cheap card sets so you won’t have any losses in terms of money.
Step 2: Buy Lots of Games
The more games you buy the higher your level will increase. This is quite a feasible way to do in the beginning since the XP gathered is quite high in the beginning. You can buy bundles of games for easy XP boosts. Do note that once you have more than 100 games than the amount of XP you gain from games gradually decreases to a point where you need way too many games just for 250xp. Which is not a good investment if you ask me. Method 1 is better.
Here are the approximate XP gains per game added according to tier level:
1-9 games: 100xp +5xp per game
10-24 games: 150xp +3.33xp per 10 above
25-49 games: 150xp + 2xp per game
50-99 games: 175xp + 1.5xp per game
100-499 games: 250xp + 0.75xp per game
500-2000+ games:1xp per game added
As you can see above once you reach 100 games then this method no longer makes much sense. You are better off crafting badges that earn way more XP and levels and costs a lot less.
Step 3: Complete Steam Profile
If you have not completed your steam profile yet then you can easily complete your steam profile and do the requested challenges to get up to 5 steam levels just like that. It’s the easiest way to boost your steam account level. A completed steam profile is a must and its free to do. You just have some basic tasks like adding steam guard, commenting, and liking guides. items etc.
You need to complete all the tasks to get the Bonus 5 Levels. The more you complete the better. You will finally get the community Leader Badge which is 500xp.
Step 4: Use Steam Sales and Holiday events
During Holiday and sales event you can buy plenty of games for cheap. You can also buy trading cards and craft badges which will give bonus cards for the sales. As you can see in the image below steam recently had the summer sale where you got extra cards for crating badges as well as buying games during the sale.
Make sure to make the most of these events and get easy level-ups. With this method, you can easily level up your accounts to any level you require provided you are willing to spend a little. Make sure to check the latest events.
Step 5: Community tasks and Helping the Steam Community
This is for those people who do not wish to spend money on badge crafting and buying games. This is significantly more work in the later stages if you ask me but it is still doable. You can get various types of badges for being a very helpful member of the community. You can get the basic community badges by completing the simple tasks shown on your steam account level page.
For other community contributions, there are other bonuses as shown below:
- Translators who are in the Top get a badge worth 100 XP
- Steamworks developers get a badge worth 500 XP
- Community moderators get a badge worth 500 XP which can be done provided you are actively helpful.
- Valve employees also get a 1000 XP bonus, although this means you need to get a job at Valve. (Much harder than you think)
Step 6: Steam Years of Service achievement
Steam Years of Service achievement awards 50 XP per year to your steam account. So if you are on steam for 15 years you will get 750XP. That’s 7 levels right there if you have a new account. But this is something that automatically happens without you having to do anything. Just make sure the steam account is active.
This probably the easiest way to level up your steam account automatically. Although it will take a long time. Use badge crafting and community achievements instead.
That’s all folks these were the Top 6 ways to level up your steam account level fast. From my personal experience, you can reach level 20 easily with less than 5$. There aren’t many benefits to very high steam level. Even if you like competing a lot I would recommend you stop once you reach level 50. After that let it happen naturally. The benefits are minor and don’t do much for you to be honest. It’s also a waste to spend so much money for steam levels when you don’t get anything significant in return.
I hope this guide helped you increase your steam account level. Happy Gaming. See you in-game
