Front camera: 16MP

The OnePlus 9 Pro is one of the best all-round phone. It managed to take on the gaudy gaming phone brigade for power and game-friendly features. From a gamer’s perspective, it’s a well-built piece of kit, but a slippery sucker. At 197g it’s hardly light, but in a world of gaming phones that can weigh upwards of 250g, it’s relatively feather-like.

The star of the show here is the OnePlus 9 Pro’s 6.7-inch AMOLED display, which can hit a QHD resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate (which is variable this time around) all at once. That’s not unusual any longer, and of course, some gaming phones have been able to hit 144Hz for a while now. But it looks and handles beautifully. The OnePlus 9 Pro might not have tacky RGB lights running down its back, but it’s been set up with gamers firmly in mind. The Snapdragon 888 CPU is the go-to component for high-end 2021 phones, but it provides a sizeable performance boost over last year’s Snapdragon 865 – especially in the GPU stakes. Backed by 8GB or 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM, it flies through games.

The OnePlus 9 Pro comes with 8GB Ram, 128GB Storage & 12GB Ram, 256GB Storage.

3) Samsung Galaxy S21 Plus

Samsung Galaxy S21 Plus

Display:  6.7-inch fullHD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X, HDR10+, 120Hz refresh rate (adaptive: 48hz-120hz)refresh rate with Latest LTPO technology

Processor: Exynos 2100

Ram: 8GB

Storage: 128GB

SOFTWARE: Android 11, OneUI 3.1

Battery: 4800 mAh

Rear camera :  12MP f/1.8 (wide) OIS + 12MP f/2.2 (ultra-wide) + 64MP f/2.0 OIS (telephoto)

Front camera: 10MP f/2.2

The S20 Plus is powered by the Exynos 2100 system-on-chip, has a 120Hz panel and a Snapdragon 888 processor like all of this year’s top flagships. The phone’s performance is smooth and free from any visible flaws. Importantly, there are no thermal issues and the performance is consistent, irrespective of usage. It may only have 8GB of RAM, but that doesn’t hold it back. It’s still fast in every sense of the world. Plus, its 5G support extends to millimeter-wave networks as well as sub-6GHz ones, which allows for the quickest data speeds on the planet for when you’re gaming online away from home. The Galaxy S21 Plus doesn’t offer much strictly in the way of dedicated gaming features though it’s just an all-around great (and, unfortunately, kind of expensive) flagship device that also happens to be one of the best gaming phones.

4) iQoo 7 Legend

iQoo 7 Legend

Display:   6.62-inch

Processor: Qualcomm Snapdragon 888

Ram: 8GB

Storage: 128GB

SOFTWARE: Android 11

Battery: 4400 mAh

Rear camera :   48MP + 13MP + 13MP

Front camera:   16MP

iQOO 7 Legend is a well-balanced smartphone for daily use and is a supremely powerful gaming smartphone packed with features that help you stand out in games like COD: Mobile. In our daily use, the iQOO 7 Legend showed no signs of stress and we did not encounter any lags when switching between different apps or games. The fast-charging support is a great feature to have since it completely chargers the phone in under half an hour.

Unlike the ROG Phone 5, the iQOO 7 does not have trigger buttons on the side edge. Instead, the display of the phone is pressure sensitive and allows users to map in-game controls in different games. While in the game, players can just hard press the left or right side of the screen to perform selected actions. There are two sensors each on the left and right side of the display that detect pressure sensitivity allowing players to tune it as per their choice. The haptic feedback of the phone is generally good and there is a 4D game vibration mode as well which boosts the feedback when playing games. And the dual speakers on the iQOO 7 are just resounding and can get loud enough which more than makes up for a great gaming experience.

5) Lenovo Legion Phone Duel 2

Lenovo Legion Phone Duel 2

Display:   6.92-inch

Processor: Qualcomm Snapdragon 888

Ram: 12GB

Storage: 256GB

SOFTWARE: Android 11

Battery: 5500 mAh

Rear camera :  64MP + 16MP

Front camera:   44MP

Lenovo Legion Phone Duel 2 is a premium quality gaming device, enabling horizontal usage backed by a comprehensive thermal system. It is the first-ever smartphone to receive virtual Octa-Trigger gaming keys and a Twin Turbo Fan Cooling mechanism. Moreover, a vivid AMOLED display assures the best-in-class experience to the gamers out there. The smartphone features compact camera options as well. Gaming phones are not exactly known for their restrained design.

Lenovo’s Legion Phone Duel 2 offers a fairly conservative color palette with black and white, but it is otherwise anything but ordinary: Like the predecessor, the smartphone is designed for use in landscape mode and is considerably thicker in the center, where the cameras are found, and the RGB module on the back, which lights up or flashes during notifications or in gaming mode and can be configured in numerous colors and effects. The predecessor offered 2 assignable shoulder buttons for games, the Legion Phone Duel 2 offers 6: Two shoulder buttons on each side and one on each edge of the middle module, which can be operated comfortably with the middle fingers.

6) Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra

Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra

Display: 6.9 inches) Quad HD+ Display

Processor: Exynos Octa Core Processor

Ram: 12GB

Storage: 256GB

SOFTWARE: Android 10

Battery: 4500 mAh Lithium-ion Battery

Rear camera : 108MP + 12MP + 12MP

Front camera: 10MP

This phablet comes sporting a Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 Plus processor, which thus far we’ve only seen fitted inside of gaming phones like the Asus ROG Phone 3 and Nubia Red Magic 5G. Compared to the regular Snapdragon 865, this Plus chip runs at a 0.3GHz higher clock speed, granting it 10% more processing and graphical power. The onboard memory has also been upgraded from LPDDR4 to LPDDR5, which also grants this year’s model even more speed. All of these cutting-edge components make the Note 20 Ultra a fantastic multitasker. The Note 20 Ultra is capable of higher refresh rates – but gaming and high refresh rates beget heat.

The 20 Ultra does not show off a lot of heat to deal with – but as games become more and more progressive with heavier graphics, need for better details – the heating-is-lesser-nut is going to come loose. You can have three apps open at the same time between two across a split window and a third one running on a pop-up menu. You can also use all of that 6.9-inch screen to play mobile and streaming games on a really big display.

Everything from Forza Horizon 4 to Shadow Gun: War Games looks great running on the Note 20 Ultra’s Dynamic AMOLED 2X with perfect contrast and color. Samsung’s special partnership with Microsoft has also led to the best version of the xCloud Game Streaming app I’ve seen. It features a few extra options to block notifications or open your home row apps in a popup window over any game you’re playing.

7) Xiaomi Mi 11X

Xiaomi Mi 11X

Display:   6.67 AMOLED

Processor: Snapdragon Qualcomm 870 5G

Ram: 6GB & 8GB

Storage: 128GB

SOFTWARE: MIUI 12

Battery: 4520 mAh

Rear camera :  48MP

Front camera: 48MP

The hardware and software on the device come together to provide an almost flawless experience with both apps and games running like a breeze on the device. The phone feels snappy to use regardless of what you run on it. While gaming, the Mi 11X gives nothing to complain about as its hardware easily handled titles like Call of Duty Mobile and Asphalt 9 Legends this games runs at a median FPS of 60 frames, and that too at the stability of 100 percent. The gaming performance of the device is further enhanced by the presence of the phone’s gorgeous E4 AMOLED display, which not only hits high peak brightness and accurate color notes but also supports a high refresh rate and even higher touch response rate.

The Mi 11X comes with 6GB RAM 128GB Storage and 8GB RAM 128GB Storage.

8) OnePlus 9

OnePlus 9

Display:   6.55 Fluid AMOLED, 120Hz

Processor: Qualcomm SM8350 Snapdragon 888 5G

Ram: 8GB & 12GB

Storage: 128GB & 256GB

SOFTWARE: Android 11, OxygenOS 11.2.7.7 2

Battery: Li-Po 4500 mAh

Rear camera :  48 MP, f/1.8, 23mm (wide), 1/1.43″, 1.12µm, omnidirectional PDAF50 MP, f/2.2, 14mm (ultrawide), 1/1.56″, 1.0µm, AF2 MP, f/2.4, (monochrome)

Front camera: 16 MP, f/2.4, (wide), 1/3.06″, 1.0µm

The key spec for gamers is the OnePlus 9’s Snapdragon 888 chip. Crucially, this gives you the same top-level CPU and GPU as the OnePlus 9 Pro. With the same 8GB or 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM, this thing flew through all of the gaming tests we could throw at it. League of Legends: Wild Rift and PUBG Mobile both performed faultlessly on the highest settings possible. The OnePlus 9 Pro might be the best Android all-rounder on the market right now, but the OnePlus 9 arguably represents better value.

Gamers get practically the same performance, a fluid 120Hz display, stereo sound, and an extremely fast charger for hundreds of pounds/dollars less. The OnePlus 9 retains the same 4,500 mAh battery found on the 8T. However, the battery life is slightly lower here, probably because the Snapdragon 888 draws a bit more than the better optimized 865 chip. It still managed to keep the phone running for close to 30 hours of normal use that included a generous amount of messaging and use of social media apps, browsing, a decent amount of calling and clicking a few photos, an hour of watching videos, and half an hour of gaming.

9) Realme X50 Pro 5G

Realme X50 Pro 5G

Display:   6.44-inch

Processor: Qualcomm Snapdragon 865

Ram: 8GB

Storage: 128GB

SOFTWARE: Android 10

Battery: 4200 mAh

Rear camera :   64MP + 8MP + 12MP + 2MP

Front camera: 32MP + 8MP

OnePlus may have moved on to the premium class, but Realme is successfully filling the void and it does more than just answer the call of the need for speed. Indeed, the Realme X50 Pro is fast – it has access to the fastest of networks, fastest of processors, and even the fastest charging. With a combination of Snapdragon 865 and a 90Hz display, the device delivers a fast and smooth experience. At no point, we felt that the device was slow. Graphic-intensive tasks like gaming and watching videos work like a charm.

While not a lot of games support the 90Hz display, we still appreciate the fact that Realme offers a 90Hz screen. The device can handle graphic-intensive games like PUBG Mobile and Fortnite with ease. The overall performance of the Realme X50 Pro is great. The phone manages to run graphic-heavy games like PUBG and Asphalt 9 very smoothly. You can play PUBG at high-graphics settings for close to an hour at a stretch and you won’t notice frame drops at any point. It also handles multitasking very well. Despite having numerous apps running in the background the phone never slowed down.

10) Nubia RedMagic 5G

Nubia RedMagic 5G

Display:   6.65″ AMOLED, 144Hz

Processor: Qualcomm Snapdragon 865

Ram: 8,12,16 GB

Storage: 128,256GB

SOFTWARE: Android 10

Battery: 4,500 mAh

Rear camera :  Primary: 64MP, 1/1.72″ sensor, 0.8µm pixel size, f/1.8 aperture, PDAF; Ultra-wide: 8MP; Macro camera: 2MP

Front camera: 8MP, f/2.0

The Red Magic 5G is running the latest hardware from Qualcomm for flagship phones – the Snapdragon 865 chipset paired with the Snapdragon X55 for 5G connectivity. In other words, nothing that we haven’t seen before. We know what to expect from the SoC in terms of raw, synthetic performance, but the interesting part is the sustained and gaming performance. And it comes from the ever-expanding PC and mobile gaming segment. And that’s exactly what nubia is betting on. While keeping the price relatively affordable compared to other gaming smartphones, the new Red Magic 5G is also offering one of the best, if not the best, gaming displays currently on the market.

Featuring a big 6.65-inch OLED panel with a 144Hz refresh rate, it leaves most of its competitors behind as even the most expensive solutions cap at 120Hz. Experienced gamers will surely appreciate the rather small but also notable difference between 144Hz, 120Hz, and 90Hz. And to keep up with churning those frames, the handset features one of a kind active cooling solution. Borrowing the thermal design from today’s gaming laptops, the Red Magic 5G has heat pipes and an actual cooling fan to help with the heat generated from the powerful Snapdragon 865.

These are the top and the best gaming phones that will suit your needs. Take your gaming experience to the next level.

Happy Gaming!
